KUALA TERENGGANU: The Malaysian Highway Authority has advised motorists bound for Kuala Terengganu to avoid the Gemuruh toll plaza owing to a very heavy traffic flow, stretching to nearly 10km of the East Coast Highway.
The authority suggested motorists, coming from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Pahang, to use alternate exits like the one at Ajil and elsewhere as the Gemuruh exit is the tail end of the East Coast Highway to the city.
Traffic is extremely heavy owing to the Hari Raya Puasa holidays on Friday and Saturday. As the east coast states like Kelantan and Terengganu have their weekly off days on those two days, they get Sunday and Monday as replacement holidays.
