GEORGE TOWN: Two motorcyclists were killed in a head-on collision at Jalan Bayan Lepas early this morning.
Their pillion riders suffered serious injuries.
The deceased have been identified as M. Kubaran and Muhammad Fazlizan Aris, both 19.
A police spokesman said initial investigation at the scene revealed both machines, coming from opposite direction, had collided with each another.
"Both riders died on the spot due to serious injuries.
"Their pillion riders were sent to the nearby hospital for treatment," he added.
A post-mortem will be carried out at the Balik Hospital this morning.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
"Investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing," he added.
