Mother, boyfriend remanded for abusing child to death

KUALA LUMPUR: A now 'childless' mother and her 41-year old boyfriend who were arrested on suspicion of abusing the woman's seven-year-old son to death were remanded for seven days from today.

The remand order was obtained at the Ampang magistrate's court this morning.

The woman who operates a children's day care centre from home and the golf club caddy were being held for investigation under Section 302 for murder.

Ampang Jaya Police chief ACP Khairuldin Saad said the body of the standard one boy was brought to the hospital at 8.55am on Monday from his home in Jalan Kosas, Taman Kosas in Ampang here.

He said the victim was pronounced dead at 9.40am at the Ampang hospital here after succumbing to his injuries.

"The boy sustained serious injuries all over his body. There were red marks on his genitals and old wounds on his left hip," he said.

Khairuldin added besides that, there were also red marks and wounds on the victims hands and face.

Police arrested the suspects on Monday following a report made by a medical officer at the Ampang hospital here who had performed checks on the victims body.

The complainant had stated that the boy had sustained injuries on his private part and on all over his body.
