Toddler survives fall from fourth-floor flat

LUMUT: A two-year-old boy survived a fall from the fourth floor of the flats at the Royal Malaysian Navy base here yesterday, according to his parents.

Mohd Saif Miqdad Sabri was slightly injured in the left arm following the fall at 2.35 pm from the balcony of the flat where he lives with his two elder siblings and parents.

He was found lying prone on the grass on the ground floor after his fall was cushioned by the clothes hung up to dry on a line on the second floor.

His mother, Nur Hasliana Abu Hassan, 33, said she was watching television in the living room and watching over her son who was playing in the balcony.

She said she did not realise that he had climbed the railing and fallen over until a neighbour informed her.

Her husband, Sabri Rahim, 33, was away in Johor on work and rushed home after being informed of the incident.

“Praise be to God, my son is safe. I hope he does not suffer from any health condition in future,” he told reporters at the Seri Manjung Hospital here today.

Neighbours helped to rush Mohd Saif Miqdad to the Lumut Armed Forces Hospital after the fall. He was then transferred to the Seri Manjung Hospital. – BERNAMA
