BINTULU: A woman believed to have been suffering from mental illness created panic when she went into labour by the roadside at a commercial centre here this morning.
A witness, who requested anonymity, said several passers-by rushed to the scene when they heard loud cries of a woman crying in pain at about 7am.
The passers-by rushed towards the roadside near the commercial centre only to find that the woman, in her 30s, was about to deliver her baby.
“All of us helped the woman until she finally delivered her baby before she and her new-born daughter were sent to the hospital for treatment,” she said.
It was learnt that both the woman and her daughter are in stable condition.
