KUALA LUMPUR: The skies of the Bukit Jalil National Stadium was lit with colourful fireworks when midnight struck to mark Malaysia's 58th National Day.
About 400 Malaysians with celebrities counted down together during the Sehati Sejiwa concert tonight.
Organised by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the three-day concert led up to the National Day countdown which went live on television.
The crowd were performances by local artistes Tomok, Dayang Nurfaizah, Black, Faizal Tahir, Fiza Sabjahan and Bochey.
Among the popular songs performed were Warisan Wanita Terakhir, Malaikat and Bahtera Merdeka.
Prior to the concert, the crowd watched a live broadcast of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's speech.
