Memorandum to extradite Alvin Tan sent to Home Ministry

PUTRAJAYA: The government is urged to extradite sex blogger Alvin Tan so that he can face full force of the law for his actions that are deemed to insult Muslims and their faith.

Malaysia Young Thinker Association president Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen said if that failed, the government should consider revoking Tan's citizenship.

"His actions are uncalled for, ridiculing Islam with the latest tattoo of the Arabic word `Allah' (allegedly) etched on the back of his thigh," he told reporters after handing over a memorandum to the Home Ministry calling for Tan's extradition today.

Special officer to Home Minister Rizmel Nazrin Abdul Malik received the memorandum from Rafiq, who is also Umno Youth exco.

Also present was Home Ministry's Security and Public Order Division assistant chief secretary Mohd Azmi Mohd Salehudin.

Tan had grabbed the spotlight, starting with his steamy sex videos followed by several racial provocative online postings and ridiculing the Muslim call to prayer by singing his own version of the azan with what he called an "R&B cover".

The video entitled "Muslim Call to Prayer - Azn (R&B cover) was published on his Facebook page in April, featuring Tan topless and with a pair of shades, playing a keyboard while reciting the azan.
