JEMPOL: Police arrested a 23-year-old man who allegedly to have abandoned the baby girl which was found in a plastic bag at Felda Palong 2 on Thursday.
The suspect was picked up on Friday afternoon together with his sister, who believed was the mother to the infant.
District police chief Superintendent Hamzah Alias said the 28-year-old gave birth at a house in Felda Palong 2 and had instructed her brother to abandon the baby at the oil palm estate.
“The suspect was remanded four days starting today (Saturday) to assist investigation while his sister was sent to Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital, Kuala Pilah for treatment,” he said.
It was reported that a cowherd discovered the body of the infant, with her mouth bound and body wrapped with batik in a black plastic bag, when he went to check on his cattle.
