Malaysian duo made-it to semi-finals of Taiwan GP

HOON Thien How-Lim Khim Wah's fine run at the Taiwan GP continued as they reached the semi-finals of the Taiwan GP today.

The independent duo, who have only been playing together for five months defeated Thailand's Wannawat Ampunsuwan-Tinn Isriyanate 21-18, 21-19 in the quarter-finals.

Thien How-Khim Wah, will play Hong Kong's Chan Tsz Kit-Law Cheuk Him next.

The other semi-final match is between top seeds Gideon Markus Fernaldi-Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia and fifth seeds Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi of Japan.

The Japanese pair had seen off Malaysia's Tan Wee Gieen-Teo Ee Yi 21-14, 21-19 in the quarter-finals today.

Mixed doubles Tan Kian Meng-Peck Yen Wei, are the other Malaysians through to the next stage.

Kian Meng-Peck Wei beat Taiwan's Lee Yang-Yu Wen Kuo 21-15, 21-15 and will take on Indonesia's Ronald Alexander-Melati Daeva Oktaviani tomorrow.

Second seeds Tan Chee Tean-Shevon Lai Jemie, however, failed to live up to their billing, losing 21-19, 19-21, 21-15 to Taiwan's Chang Ko Chi-Chang Hsin Tien.
