SUBANG JAYA: Tan Sri Mohamed Al Amin Abd Majid has stepped in as the acting president for the BA of Malaysia (BAM), replacing Tengku Mahaleel Tengku Ariff who has taken an indefinite leave of absence.
Tengku Mahaleel, who chaired the council meeting at the Grand Dorsett Hotel here today, announced that he is taking leave due to health reasons.
The council unanimously agreed for Al Amin, who was the deputy president to take up the post.
Al Amin, was also named Chef de Mission for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro last month by the Sports Ministry.
Tengku Mahaleel, who is the BA of Kelantan president took over the BAM president post from Tan Sri Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh in 2013.
