GEORGE TOWN: A foreign couple died after falling from a flat at Persiaran Paya Terubong in Relau here today.
In the 9.05am incident, Nepalese Adhikari Suresh, 22 and Vietnamese Nguyen Thi Hoa, 20, both factory workers, were believed to have fallen from level 14 of the building near Nguyen's flat.
Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mior Farid Alathrash Wahid said Nyugen's housemates revealed that the couple had been arguing loudly before the incident.
“The housemate said she became aware that the couple had jumped off the building after she was alerted by passerby," he told reporters here today.
Mior said Adhikari's housemates had told the police that they were aware Adhikari had gone to meet Nyugen.
He added that a search of the place revealed there was no sign of crime.
Mior said the bodies were sent to Penang Hospital Forensic Department for post-mortem.
