JOHOR BARU: The Tunku Laksamana Johor, Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim is now seeking follow-up treatment in hospital, and is not in critical condition as claimed on social media.
Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar said his son was in stable condition, and denied rumours concerning the latter's condition.
The ruler said he was disappointed that there were irresponsible individuals spreading rumours about the matter, and urged Johoreans to continue praying for Tunku Abdul Jalil's health.
"Tunku Abdul Jalil complained of back pain and he is in hospital for treatment because there is no medical equipment we can use at the palace.
"His condition is stable, contrary to what is being spread on social media," Sultan Ibrahim told Harian Metro at the Sultan Ibrahim Building today.
Tunku Abdul Jalil was diagnosed with liver cancer last year.
Earlier, the ruler chaired a meeting of the Johor Pardons Board, which listed 30 cases for consideration for pardons in conjunction with Sultan Ibrahim's birthday on Nov 22.
The exact number of cases approved has not been determined.
