Flood: Over 300 evacuees in 3 Perak's relief centres

IPOH: The number of flood evacuees in the state remained the same this morning as per yesterday.

As of 10am today, 311 people from 82 families were still seeking shelter at three districts.

State Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said a new flood relief centre at Kampung Baru Kuala Dipang in Kampar had been opened at 10pm on Tuesday.

“There were 11 victims from three families who sought shelter at the community hall but they were allowed to return home at midnight after water subsided,” he said.

He said the number of evacuees in other districts remained the same with Kerian having the highest evacuees at 126, Hilir Perak (102) and Manjung (83).

The water level at the affected areas also did not improve with Kerian recording the highest level at 1.2 metres, Hilir Perak (0.5 metre), and Manjung (0.2 metre).
