Man arrested for stealing RM22,500 worth of Lego from Legoland Msia

NUSAJAYA: A 37-year old man was arrested by police for stealing seven Lego figurine displays and four other Legoland Resort Malaysia merchandise yesterday.

The suspect was arrested at his home in Jementah, Segamat at 2.15am after police received a report Legoland Resort Malaysia hotel staff that several items were missing from a guest's hotel room.

Nusajaya deputy police chief Superintendant Ismail Dollah said the suspect was apprehended at his house with a bag full of the resort hotel's Lego blocks displays.

"He was one of the hotel guests and had stayed there for a night at one of the premium rooms," Ismail told a press conference at the district headquarters in Nusa Bestari.

The 11 stolen items included a hotel directory, coffee tray, throw pillow and bed runner amounting to RM22,575 in value.

"We have remanded the suspect pending an investigation," he said, adding this is the first case handled by the Nusajaya district police involving display toys merchandise.

The case is investigated under Section 380 for theft.
