PUTRAJAYA: Finance Ministry staff must ensure that the execution of all initiatives listed under the 2016 Budget are implemented according to its stipulated timeline, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said.
Najib, who is also Finance Minister, said the job is not done after the budget announcement on Oct 23, as they have to continue monitoring what has been relayed to the people.
“The execution part is very important, our job is not over yet… we must ensure everything in the 2016 Budget is implemented.
“We must carry out all the steps that follow suit in terms of monitoring the implementation of the budget.
“If there are any obstacles causing bottlenecks along the way, we must find the appropriate measures to deal with such things,” he said at the 2016 Budget and Treasury officers’ retirement event, here at the ministry, today.
Present at the event were Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, deputy ministers Datuk Chua Tee Yong, Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani and Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Irwan Serigar Abdullah.
A total of 53 people retired consisting 10 Jusa grade, 8 management and professionals grade, and 35 implementer category officers.
Najib presented certificates of recognition and tokens of appreciation to the officers at the event.
