PR1MA partners Permata to create childcare, community programmes

KUALA LUMPUR: The 1Malaysia People’s Housing Project (PR1MA) has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Permata under the Prime Minister's Department which would positively contribute towards the development of the PR1MA homes community.

PR1MA chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias said the partnership would see the formation of Permata PR1MA quality childcare and community programmes in selected PR1MA developments.

"These programmes will be divided into two groups; Permata PR1MA Childcare Centre for children aged between 1 and 4 years old and Permata Perkasa@Remaja Community Centre for youths between the ages of 15 and 25 years old.

"PR1MA's development does not focus solely on brick and mortar aspects but would include other elements which are significant towards the creation of a harmonious and holistic integrated community living.

"We are grateful to receive strong support from Permata. Going forward, we welcome other suitable partners, be it from relevant authorities, government-linked companies as well as industry players to work closely with us," he told reporters at the 2015 PR1MA Housing Expo at the Putra World Trade Centre, here today.

To date, PR1MA's board of Members of Corporation has approved a total of 190 projects nationwide, comprising 227,776 units of PR1MA homes.

Mutalib also said PR1MA is optimistic of achieving its mandate on time with some 65,000 units of its affordable houses currently under construction across the country.

"These homes are in various stages of construction and it is estimated that 10,000 units of PR1MA homes, which will be sold at an average of 20 per cent below market prices, will be completed next year," he added.
