KUALA KANGSAR: The Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah flagged off the participants of a special run held in conjunction with his birthday here today.
The sultan and his consort Raja Permaisuri of Perak Tuanku Zara Salim arrived at the starting point at Jalan Tun Razak, in front of the Malay College Kuala Kangsar at, 6.50am.
The royal couple and their son Raja Kechil Besar Raja Azlan Muzzaffar Shah later joined the run which was divided into three categories namely 2km VVIP, 10km and 7km.
The inaugural event was organised by the Kuala Kangsar District and Land Office with technical assistance from Raja Yong Sofia Sultan Azlan Shah.
Raja Yong Sofia said the highlight of the event was the presence of national legendary athletes including sprinters Datuk Marina Chin, Rabuan Pit, Samson Vellabouy, and Josephine Mary apart from hockey player Datuk Poon Fook Look.
