KUALA LUMPUR: The biggest K-pop music awards 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards or 2015 MAMA is coming to viewers via 8TV and Tonton, tomorrow.
Catch the live telecast via www.tonton.com.my at 5pm till 7pm for the Red Carpet event and 7pm till 10.30pm for the event proper. For those who missed out on the live telecast, 8TV is airing the event at 10pm.
2015 Mama, to be held at Asia World-Expo in Hong Kong, sees a total of 17 awards presented, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Artiste of the Year, Best Male/Female Artiste, Best Male/Female Group, Best New Male/Female Artiste; and Best Performances in various genres (dance, vocal, rap, band).
Artistes slated to perform include BIG BANG, PSY, EXO, iKON, SHINee, f(x), Taeyeon, HyunA, BTS, GOT7 and Zion. T.
BIG BANG, the globally famous K-pop boy band, has released many songs this year, including Loser, Bae Bae, and BANG BANG BANG that have topped various music charts in Korea. With their outstanding project albums (each titled M, A, D, E), BIG BANG is expected to showcase yet another breathtaking performance at 2015 MAMA.
With their versatile talents such as their ability to write and produce unique songs, trend-leading tastes in fashion, captivating performing skills as shown through diverse films and TV shows, its members G-DRAGON, T.O.P, TAEYANG, DAESUNG, and SEUNGRI have gained explosive popularity worldwide. BIG BANG received Artiste of the Year award in 2012 MAMA.
Having made headlines all over the world, the Gangnam Style and Gentleman hit artiste, PSY, will also be making his appearance onstage and thrilling the audience.
K-Pop boy band EXO is expected to showcase a breathtaking performance with its new hit song Call Me Baby. At the 2013 MAMA, the group received BC UnionPay Album of the Year.
Also performing is GOT7 and one of the hottest R&B/hip hop singer-songwriters, Zion T.
GOT7’s members hail from across the globe -- Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and the US. With their diverse background and talents, GOT7’s latest hit If You Do ranked No. 1 on iTunes charts in six countries only a day after its release in September. Zion T. whom at first started his career by collaborating with big names such as G-Dragon; and Kim Jonghyun of SHINee, went on to release commended solo records. Zion. T’s latest song Eat was an instantaneous hit, climbing to the top position on Korea’s main music charts.
