PETALING JAYA: Singer Akim Ahmad will wed fellow artiste Ummu Syaikhah Stacy Anam, better known as Stacy, this coming Feb.
“The akad nikah will be held at Stacy’s hometown in Penampang, Sabah followed by a wedding reception for her family members, relatives, friends and fans there. Another reception will then be held in Johor Baru, my hometown,” said Akim when met after the launch of TV3’s new Mentor Milenia reality TV singing competition at Sri Pentas yesterday.
The singer of Akim & The Magistrate added that he didn’t have any plans to organise another wedding reception in Kuala Lumpur.
“We have discussed this matter with our parents and so far we’ve agreed to stick to just two wedding receptions in our respective hometowns,” he said.
Akim, 24 and Stacy, 25, both alumni of popular reality TV singing show Akademi Fantasia, got engaged last Sep after six years of courtship.
When asked about sponsorships for their big day, Akim revealed that they had been approached by several parties.
He added that the two have not yet taken up any of the offers.
“This is going to be a very special day for us both and, as much as we appreciate the sponsorship offers, we also want to do it our own way,” he said.
