BUTTERWORTH: Five men made away with RM60,000 from a businessman’s car within seconds at the Juru Industrial Zone today.
In the 12.30pm incident, a 28-year-old factory owner had gone to withdraw cash for his workers’ salary.
According to police sources, the man then drove to his factory and left his suitcase filled with cash unattended in the back seat of his car.
Moments later, a group of five men on motorcycles rode into the compound. The men then smashed the car’s windows and carted away the bag in seconds.
The victim only realised something was amiss after hearing shouts from his workers.
Penang Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Zakaria Ahmad said the case was under investigation.
