KUALA TERENGGANU: A 68-year-old taxi driver was seriously injured after being attacked by his passenger near Pelabuhan Chendering yesterday.
A police source said the victim had sent his passenger to the scene before being attacked in the 3pm incident. It is believed that the passenger had used stones to hit the driver.
"It was learnt that the suspect fled the scene with the victim's wallet," he said.
The security guard at the Chendering Port found the victim, who sustained injuries on his head and body and alerted the police.
The victim was sent for treatment at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Idris Abdul Rafar who confirmed the case said police are investigating the case and hunting for the suspect.
