SEREMBAN: A number of programmes slated to hold in conjunction with the 68th Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir birthday on Thursday, will be cancelled and postponed.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said that changes had to be made as Tuanku would like to spend time with his youngest son, Tunku Alif Hussein Saifuddin Al-Amin, 32, who was currently warded at Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
Mohamad said Tuanku would not take the salute from the security personnel at Padang Besar Seri Menanti, Kuala Pilah in the morning session.
“The royal dinner scheduled on Jan 16 at Klana Resort will be postponed to a later date,” he told a press conference after introducing the Negri Sembilan Premier League’s players, here, today.
He added that while the investiture ceremony would be conducted as planned at Balairong Seri, Istana Besar Seri Menanti, Kuala Pilah, the usual luncheon event would however be cancelled.
Additionally, other programmes such as fishing competition that involved the public participation would take place as scheduled.
He also pointed out the measure was also in line with the unfavourable economic situation where required the state government to be prudent in expenses.
