HUTAN MELINTANG: It was a memorable moment for shop owner Beng Song Wan when Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi visited his house at Taman Desa Bersatu here for breakfast today.
Song Wan, 53, said this was the third time that the Bagan Datoh member parliament, who is also his family's friend, had visited them at their home.
"Normally, he would drop by at my shop in the town area.
"But when I invited him to my house through SMS two days ago, he agreed to come," he said with a proud smile.
Also at home to welcome Zahid were Song Wan's mother Cheah Seah Lian, 75; wife Tiang Mee Ping, 48 and their two children Beh Jia Tzi, 10 and Beh Jia Jun, 7.
About 100 residents at the housing area also joined them at the special function, which was also organised in conjunction with the Chinese New Year on Monday.
