No more Menteris Besar to be replaced, says Zahid

HUTAN MELINTANG: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today refuted claims that several other Menteris Besar would be replaced after the change in Kedah's top leadership.

"I did not hear anything about it..."Tidak ada angin yang bertiup" (there's no information on that)," he said.

He was commenting on rumours that several other states would have a new menteri besar after the political crisis in Kedah that ended with the resignation of Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.

On open criticism against the Umno leadership made by former Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, Zahid said such actions would do more harm to the party.

"Former party leaders must support the present leadership.

"They should remember that they were able to hold on strongly to their posts in the past due to support from other leaders and members," he said after launching Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Khir Johari's Diamond Jubilee celebration here today.

He said former leaders may have different opinions but they must express them in civility without the intention to bring the present leadership and the party down.
