BACHOK: A 24-year-old jobless man was injured after he was shot while riding pillion on a motorcycle with his younger brother at Pauh Lima here around midnight.
Kelantan Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Taufek Abdullah said the victim, who was shot on his back, is now being warded at Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian.
His brother, he said, was unhurt.
"The two were heading to Pauh Lima from Bukit Temelong when they were approached by two unknown men also on a motorcycle.
"One of the unknown men then shot the victim before escaping. Seeing this, his brother immediately brought the victim to the Gunung health clinic before he was transferred to HUSM," he said.
Ahmad Taufek said police had yet to make any arrests but initial investigation showed that revenge and argument over drug selling might be the motive behind the shooting.
