BUTTERWORTH: A 28-year-old man cheated death after he managed to get out from his car just before it burst into flames at the North-South Expressway near Nibong Tebal here today.
In the 8.30am incident, the man had lost control of his vehicle at KM150.5 (northbound) and crashed into the back of another car.
According to witnesses, the man then moved his vehicle to the shoulder of the road. Moments later, the front portion of his car caught fire and spread to other parts of the vehicle.
South Seberang Prai police district chief Superintendent Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad said the car was razed to the ground in minutes.
He said the accident is being investigated.
