BATU PAHAT: A 70-year-old man was killed when his Perodua Viva burst into flames in a four-vehicle accident in Jalan Muar- Kampung Sri Wangi in Yong Peng here today.
The 8.02am accident also involved a lorry driven by a man, 24; a 4x4 Toyota Hilux pickup driven by a man, 30; and a woman, 26, in a Perodua Bezza.
The senior citizen was identified as Shahri Abu, 70.
Yong Peng Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Badrul Hisyam Loi said upon receiving a call that one of the four vehicles in the accident was on fire, a team of nine personnel was sent to the scene.
The team put out the fire in the Viva, and found Shahri burned and trapped in it.
Badrul Hisyam said the body was extricated and handed over to the police.
