117 families afftected by floods in Gua Musang to receive new homes in two months' time

GUA MUSANG: A total of 117 families whose homes were washed away in the massive floods that hit district in 2014 and currently living in temporary shelter at the Gua Musang Ethnobotany National Service Training camp here, will receive their own permananet houses in two months time.

Galas state assemblyman Ab Aziz Yusof said the houses were currently under construction in Kampung Batu Papan 2 and Kampung Tanah Puteh, here.

“The construction of these permanent houses has taken quite some time because of the time-consuming land purchasing process with people in the area.

“However, the matter has been resolved, and we are in the process of building permanent houses for the flood victims, which is expected to be completed in April,” he told reporters after visiting the flood victims at the camp here today.

He also spent time with three Chinese families who were celebrating Chinese New Year at the camp. -- Bernama
