Man killed in early morning crash

KLANG: A 24-year-old man was killed and two others injured when the car they were travelling in skidded and crashed into a tree on Jalan Dato Mohd Sidin here, this morning.

In the 4.15am incident, the driver, Lim Sheng Yiap died at the scene due to severe injuries.

Meanwhile, the other two passengers in the car were badly injured.

Lim Kian Fong, 21, broke his spine and left arm while Yeong Ti Sem, 23, suffered internal injuries.

Klang Utara district police chief ACP Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the car driven by the victim was believed to have been speeding from Jalan Batu Tiga Lama to Kampung Jawa.

"As the driver reached a corner near Jalan Dato Mohd Sidin, he lost control of the car, then skidded and hit a tree on the road shoulder.

"For now, investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the accident," he said, in a statement today.

At the time of the incident, the weather was good and the road surface was dry, said Mohd Yusoff.

He said the body was sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) for autopsy.
