KOTA TINGGI: A septuagenarian died when the Proton Wira he was driving was involved in a crash with another Proton Wira at 9.30am today.
Nasrun Hamzah, 70, died on the spot in the crash that occurred at KM63.5 Jalan Sg. Rengit-Kota Tinggi, near the junction to enter Felda Pasak.
Kota Tinggi police chief Superintendent Rahmat Othman said the accident was believed to have occurred when Nasrun, who was coming from Sg. Rengit and heading to Kota Tinggi, made a U-turn at a double line.
The driver of the other car, which was also heading to Kota Tinggi, rammed into the side of Nasrun's car.
The 26-year-old driver of the other car, Rosaidin Mehat, sustained facial injuries and was sent to the Kota Tinggi district hospital for treatment.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless driving.
