PETALING JAYA: Police today recorded a statement from PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar over a caricature of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak depicted in a clown face, uploaded on her Instagram account.
The Lembah Pantai MP arrived at the police headquarters here at 2pm, accompanied by lawyer Michelle Yesudas, as well as Batu MP Tian Chua who came to offer his support.
Nurul Izzah was questioned for an hour under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 and Section 504 of the Penal Code.
Last month, Gerakan Merah president Mohd Ali Baharom aka Ali Tinju lodged a police report against artist and activist Fahmi Reza over his caricature depicting Najib Razak as a clown.
Nurul Izzah uploaded the caricature on her Instagram account.
Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistance Commisioner Mohd Zani Che Din when contacted confirmed that police had recorded the statement from Nurul Izzah.
