Businessman Huang Tiong Sii to contest in Repok

SARIKEI: After months of speculation, Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem today unveiled a candidate who will stand for Sarawak Barisan Nasional in Repok during the upcoming state polls.

Adenan, who is also Sarawak BN chairman, announced that businessman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii will be contesting in the Repok state seat.

He made the announcement before more than 5,000 people at a gathering held at the Sarikei Civic Centre here today.

"Huang will represent BN in Repok during the upcoming state polls," he said to loud cheers from the crowd at the event.

At the same event, Adenan announced Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Promotion of Technical Education) Datuk Len Talif Salleh would defend his Kuala Rajang seat.

Also defending his seat in the upcoming polls is Semop assemblyman Abdullah Saidol, who is also the political secretary to the Chief Minister.
