Actress Fazura shedding designer outfits for police uniform

KUALA LUMPUR: Stylish actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin is happy to finally play a role that doesn’t require her to look all dolled-up all the time.

The 32-year-old actress who was among the stars present at the launch of J Revolusi, the latest flick co-produced by Grand Brilliance and Infinitus Productions Sdn Bhd at Berjaya Times Square yesterday is set to take on a different role in her latest venture.

In J Revolusi, Fazura will play a tough cookie.

“It is always nice to be clad in designer outfits by the likes of Diane Von Furstenberg, Chanel and all. But I’ve done all that in my previous roles. When I first heard about this role, I knew I had to take it. To work in an action-packed movie has always been my dream and I’m just so happy and thankful that it has finally landed on my lap,” said the award-winning actress who is always up for new challenges.

Fazura has played gold digger in Pisau Cukur and a self-centred fashion diva-turned-futsal captain in Gol & Gincu, both directed by Bernard Chauly.

She impressed even the sceptics when she took on the role of Khadijah a village girl in Osman Ali’s Langit Cinta.

In J Revolusi directed by newcomer Zulkarnain Azhar, Fazura will join forces with Zul Ariffin, Izara Aishah, Farid Kamil, Iedil Putra and Azad Jasmin.

The film, set to release in the first quarter of next year, is about Jay, a Unit Tindakan Khas (Special Action Unit) personnel. When his sister Dian (Fazura), an undercover agent is kidnapped by a mysterious terrorist, he must save her.

Halfway through filming, what has been the toughest scene for her?

“I think it would have to be the fighting scenes. One time I had to use all my might to throw these guys off. Literally! That was tough but it was fun all the same!” said Fazura, flashing that gorgeous smile.
