Sarawak in 'chaos' if Opposition were to rule, cautions Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today cautioned that chaos would reign if the Opposition was given a chance to govern.

The Opposition, he noted, could not even agree on a consensus on seats to contest in the Sarawak election, much less govern a state and country.

“This is even before taking into account forming the cabinet, or deciding on assigning posts. Sarawak would be in chaos,” he said in his post titled ‘United for Progress’ in his blog www.najibrazak.com.

Najib said there were also those among the Opposition who spread lies and go on personal attacks.

He said, politics based on untruths is already entrenched within the Opposition, and has no place in any election.

“I am confident that the people of Sarawak can see clearly the drama and facade put up by the Opposition, and will keep this in mind when they cast their votes.

“Don’t be fooled, let us preserve the progress and prosperity enjoyed in the Land of the Hornbills, and may it develop together with the blue wave of Barisan Nasional,” he said.

Najib, who is also Barisan Nasional chairman, yesterday showed up to offer support to Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem during nomination day at the Tanjung Datu constituency.

The Sarawak polls got off to a poor start for the Opposition, when Pakatan Harapan allies DAP and PKR ended up going against each other in six seats.

Both have pinned the blame on each other for the debacle.
