SETIU: Two teenagers were killed on the spot with one of them decapitated, when they were involved in an accident near Kampung Gong Kubor, Permaisuri, yesterday evening.
The motorcyclist and his pillion rider, both 17, were convoying with a group of friends from Permaisuri to Kuala Terengganu when the tragedy occurred.
It is understood that the motorcycle was attempting to overtake another when it fell onto the road.
A car coming from the opposite direction could not stop in time and ran over them. One of the teens was decapitated as a result.
Both bodies were sent to the Setiu Hospital for post mortem.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Elias Abu Bakar confirmed the incident and said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act 1987.
