SHAH ALAM: Joggers at a neighbourhood playground here were shocked to discover a body hanging from a tree in an apparent suicide this morning.
Shah Alam OCPD Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said members of the public had alerted them to the discovery, which was found at a playground located along Jalan 25/90, here.
The deceased was identified as a 49-year-old man from Taman Awana in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
"The body was sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang," said Shafien.
Meanwhile, a resident living nearby who wanted to be known only as Rani, said she initially thought someone was exercising at the spot where the body was discovered.
"My neighbours and I would usually come out here to do morning exercises. We were stunned and I immediately asked my daughter to alert the authorities," said the 40-year-old.
