SIK: A 48-year-old woman died after a car she was travelling in rammed into the back of a stalled lorry at Jalan Jeneri - Padang Chicak this evening.
The state Fire and Rescue Department in a statement said the woman was trapped in the front passenger's seat in the 7.50pm accident.
It was learnt that the Sik Fire and Rescue Station received a distress call at 7.55pm.
A team of six firemen led by operation commander Mohamad Zainol Yaacob rushed to the location and found a Perodua Viva had hit the back of a lorry, laden with rubber wood, that had broken down by the roadside.
The lorry driver, 59, who suffered severe injuries was rushed to the Sik Hospital by passers-by while the woman was found still trapped in her seat and motionless.
The team managed to extricate her body before handing it over to police for further action.
