MALACCA: Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob, 79, was sworn in as the Yang Di-Pertua Negeri of Malacca for the fourth term at the Dewan Seri Negeri here today.
The swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by Malacca High Court Judge, Datuk Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera.
Present was Khalil's wife Toh Puan Zurina Kassim.
Also present were Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron and his wife Datin Seri Fadilah Abdullah.
Khalil was first appointed as the sixth Yang Di-Pertua Negeri of Malacca in 2004.
He succeeded Tun Syed Ahmad Shahabuddin Syed Mahmud.
His following reappointments were in 2008 and 2012.
