(Football) Harimau Malaysia "fangless" against Myanmar

KUALA LUMPUR: The Harimau Malaysia (national football squad) were “fangless” in their Class A international friendly match against Myanmar at the Thuwunna Youth Training Centre Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar today.

The match, which was aired live by a local private television station, ended in a goalless draw.

Malaysia’s side made up mostly of players from the National Under-23 squad and captained by Aidil Zaquan Abdul Radzak were on the receiving end of the hosts strike force but keeper Izham Tarmizi Roslan was in form to keep them at bay.

Than Paing did manage to put the ball in the net for the hosts in the 56th minute but referee Sivakorn Pu-Udom from Thailand ruled that he was offside.

The national squad will be back home tomorrow and will go straight to Johor to face Timor Leste in two playoff matches in the third round of the Asia Cup 2019, on June 2 and 6, at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin. --BERNAMA
