TMJ: Don't arrest those who slander me, I'll meet them 'man to man'

KUALA LUMPUR: Tengku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has asked police to refrain from arresting anyone who makes seditious remarks about him.

Instead, he wants the person to meet him ‘man to man’ and say it to his face.

In an interview posted on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page today, Tunku Ismail touched on a recent incident where a man was sought by police for posting online remarks insulting the Johor royalty.

Tunku Ismail said instead of arresting those who make such remarks, he would instead prefer if the police were to arrange a meeting with such people.

“I would humbly share my opinion with PDRM not to arrest anyone making seditious remarks about me.

“I would prefer it if the authorities can organise a meeting for me to meet with these people and give them the privilege of saying what they want to say to my face, man to man. I would appreciate it if you can agree to my humble proposal,” he said.

He said he was aware of such reports.

“Yes, I have been informed about this incident, but what can I do about it if someone lodges a police report. I can honestly say that I don't really care about what other people may say about me as I am truly thankful with what God as given me in my life. I have no time to entertain people as such.

“Sometimes there are pages in the social media who are paid to instigate the people to fight and quarrel amongst themselves so that their attention is diverted from the problems and issues that matters. This enables the people in big organisations and in power to implement their mission without the people even knowing.

“The people should judge for themselves,” he said.

Tunku Ismail, who is the owner of the Johor Darul Ta’zim football club, was also asked for his thoughts on his accomplishments to date.

He said among his list of accomplishments include successfully increasing the club's budget from RM30m to RM120m in one year, helped the club win six trophies in three years, and transforming individuals in the football industry into millionaires.

He also listed off other accomplishments such as winning his first ever polo trophy at 11, as well as being the only Malaysian polo player and only foreigner to have won the Metropolitana Open Championship.

“I have thousands chanting my name as I enter the stadium. I am a man who is 'real' while some (children to prominent people) socialites in KL try to act like 'gangsters'.

“I am loved by my people, respected by other states and countries, and feared by those who are selfish for money and power.

“I'm the most hated 31 year old billionaire by those suffering from mental illnesses. The truth hurts? Continue hating.”
