Early morning blaze razes 80 Kudat squatter houses

Some 80 homes were destroyed in the early morning fire at Kampung Tanjung Kapor.

The fire was put out at 4.28am which saw 80 squatter homes destroyed.

Firemen from Kudat and Kota Marudu Fire and Rescue department were at scene to put out the blaze.

No casualties were reported in the fire.

KUDAT: Eighty squatter houses at Kampung Tanjung Kapor here were razed early this morning.

The district fire and rescue department received an emergency call at 1.48am and dispatched 23 officers were sent to location.

Kota Marudu fire and rescue team also supported them.

The fire was under control at 4.28am and so far no casualties were recorded.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, a substation owned by Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd in Teluk Likas, Kota Kinabalu was 75 percent burnt down last night.

The emergency call was received at 10.21pm and the fire and rescue team succeeded in putting out the blaze at 11.54pm.
