Najib joins hundreds to hunt for Terengganu delicacies at Ramadan bazaar

KUALA TERENGGANU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak joined hundreds of people for to hunt for authentic Terengganu food for buka puasa at the Batu Enam Ramadan bazaar at 5.15pm today.

With him were Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman and state executive councillors.

Najib took time out of his busy schedule during his state visit to tour one of the biggest Ramadan bazaars in the state featuring the biggest spread of local delicacies.

He spent about 20 minutes at the bazaar and bought keropok losong, bingka ubi, menganang telor, rojak kateh, gulai kawah, among others.

Food sellers from whom Najib bought the food from were delighted to have the PM as their customer.

Some of them as well as bazaar visitors did not miss the opportunity to pose for ‘wefies’ with him during the walkabout.

Najib briefly told the crowd that Ramadan bazaars were a potpourri of different food cultures unique to the country.

"Different types of food are sold in different bazaars in different states.

"Besides buying food items for the breaking of fast, Ramadan bazaars also offer visitors an interesting experience," he said.

Later, Najib proceeded to the Masjid Assalam in Batu Rakit for buka puasa. He will attend terawih prayers at Masjid Al Mutaqim at Kampung Gemuruh.
