Four cheat death after Myvi bursts into flames

SLIM RIVER: Four passengers of a car escaped from being burnt alive after their car caught fire following an accident here today.

In the 9.30am incident, which took place at KM371.2 (northbound) of the North South Expressway, the passengers, two men and two women, only sustained light injuries after the driver lost control of the Perodua MyVi.

Slim River Fire and Rescue Department chief Yussli Abd Latif said the department were alerted to the emergency at 9.50am.

"By the time we reached the scene, the victims had already managed to free themselves from the wreckage. The car had burst into flames," he said.

Firemen took only two minutes to douse the blaze which destroyed 80 per cent of the car.

"The four victims were sent to the Slim River Hospital for treatment," he added.
