Religious school teacher jailed two years for obscene FB posting and lewd video

KOTA BARU: A teacher at a religious school was jailed two years by the Sessions Court here for making an obscene and false Facebook post, as well as for possessing obscene films.

Judge Ahmad Bazli Baruddin found Nik Adit Nikmat, 43, guilty on both charges and ordered him to a year's jail for each charge.

Both sentences are to run consecutively beginning today.

Nik Adit, from Sungai Petai in Pasir Putih, was charged with using an internet application to make and send a picture titled 'Nude Fiesta' which was obscene and false with the intention of hurting the feelings of others on Aug 8, 2014 about 9pm at an address in Jalan Maahad Saniah in Pasir Putih.

In the second charge, he was accused of possessing obscene films and publicity materials at about 4.45pm on Aug 21, 2014 at the same address.

Both charges were under the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998.

Kelantan prosecuting director Idham Abdul Ghani appeared for the prosecution while Nik Adit was defended by lawyer Siti Syaerah Meor.

The judge allowed Nik Adit bail of RM15,000 in one surety for him to appeal the sentence.
