Tony Pua vents on social media, wonders what 'friends' he has

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor DAP chairman Tony Pua has taken to social media to vent his frustration against 'friends', seemingly referring to PKR's fresh snub over the proposed snap polls in Penang.

“Sometimes, you wonder what type of friends you have. When they are in a crisis, you backed them to the hilt, come what may.

"Then at a time where we would appreciate their support, they leak everything to the media first, leaving you completely naked.

“Or announce to the whole world openly before they bother talking to us,” he wrote on his Facebook page today.

On Tuesday, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said he would await official word from PKR before deciding on the next course of action.

The DAP secretary-general said the party would continue discussions with PKR on the snap polls and that the latter had been told not to take too long to decide.

Lim had previously expressed unhappiness that news of possible snap polls in the state had been leaked out even as high-level discussions were ongoing.

PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail said the central committee is not convinced by DAP's proposal and that further discussions are needed.
