KUALA LUMPUR: An unemployed man was charged at the Sessions Court today with raping his 12-year-old neighbour eight years ago.
Badruddin Mohammad Talib, 27, pleaded not guilty to the offence before judge Datin Kunasundary Marimuthu.
He was accused of raping the girl inside a unit at the Sri Pantai People’s Housing Project (PPR) flat in Pantai Dalam, Brickfields in August 2008.
The accused, who was unrepresented, asked for bail be imposed on him. Deputy public prosecutor Liyana Zawani Mohd Radzi had submitted for him to not be granted bail.
The judge allowed RM10,000 bail and fixed Sept 22 for mention.
She also ordered Badruddin and his family members to stay away from the victim.
