Primary Six pupil wins Sabah leg of RHB - NST National Spell-It-Right Challenge

KOTA KINABALU: The first day of the RHB - New Straits Times National Spell-It-Right (SIR) Challenge for Sabah saw Alyssa Kathleen Paul from Sekolah Kebangsaan St Francis Convent grabbing the top spot for the primary category this year.

The Primary Six pupil, who got all three words correct during the final round, brought home RM2,000 and will represent Sabah in the national finals in October at Kuala Lumpur.

Second and third place went to Gabriel Chong Harn and Reine Lim Jing, both from SJK(C) Chung Hwa Likas, who won RM 1,500 and RM1,000, respectively.

Eighty-nine pupils from 11 schools state-wide competed in the SIR Challenge today, while the secondary category will commence tomorrow.
