Azmin: PKR has nothing to fear from Parti Pribumi

SHAH ALAM: PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said there is nothing to fear about Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Parti Pribumi) and that it is open to talks on the number of seats it is eyeing to contest in the 14th General Election.

Azmin said PKR is ready to discuss the matter with Parti Pribumi.

"This is not a question of taking seats (from PKR). When we formed PKR in 1999, (it was) the same process (that) we went through. We talked to DAP, Pas and several other political parties.

"And with that mutual understanding, we managed to secure some seats. I think the process will be discussed later.

"There have been no discussions yet. The party has yet to be approved. So ask Zahid Hamidi (Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) to approve it quickly so we can discuss it soon," said Azmin.

Azmin was speaking after the state monthly assembly organised by the Klang Municipal Council, and the ‘Kibar Jalur Gemilang’ campaign at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Abdul Aziz today.

It was reported yesterday that Parti Pribumi protem president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said they would start negotiating with other opposition parties including Pas, as soon as the party registration is approved by the Registrar of Societies.
