LAHAD DATU: Five people were killed while another was seriously injured when a car they were in crashed into a four-wheel-drive vehicle here.
Four died at the scene while another succumbed to severe injuries at the district hospital after the accident in the Bagahak area, located about 40km from here.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department said a team from the district station was dispatched to the scene after receiving information on the accident about 3pm.
"Members of the team managed to extricate the deceased from the wreckage and sent two children who were seriously wounded to the hospital," he added.
