TM and MRCB collaborating on ICT & IoT smart services

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) and Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) will be collaborating on the development of integrated telecommunications, ICT and Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled smart services at the latter's property development projects.

TM group chief executive officer Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa said the collaboration will pave way for the company to define a clear IoT strategy for MRCB properties.

"The collaboration will also enable us to promote Smart City Living through the provisioning of smart solutions which encompass but not limited to smart safety and security, smart mobility, smart building management and tenant and citizen services," he said in a statement at the signing ceremony here, today.

MRCB group managing director Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din said the group's urban development vision will set it on a focused vision to integrate multiple aspects of ICT and IoT in managing a Smart City's assets.

"The goal of building a smart city is to improve the quality of life using urban informatics and technology to improve the efficiency of services for residents' needs.

"Therefore, our Smart City roadmap must lead the way towards an advanced ICT infrastructure that will become the backbone for systems that can respond to challenges and enhance efficiency, instead of a system that merely facilitates transactions and services for its residents," Mohamad Salim said.

Currently, TM is already equipping various communications and smart ICT services to MRCB-owned properties nationwide to ensure seamless integration of future smart services.
